Why you've been so irritable lately

This week's hot topic πŸ”₯

This week we're talking about being pissed offfff.

Hey Reader

I'm going to name something that doesn't get talked about enough.

The snapping at your partner over something small. The zero patience for a question your child asks three times. The colleague who says something mildly annoying in a meeting and you have to physically stop yourself from reacting. The disproportionate anger at the slow driver in front of you on the way home.

If this sounds familiar, I want you to hear this clearly: that is not a mood problem. It is not a personality flaw. It is a nervous system running out of capacity.

When your stress response has been activated for long enough, your threshold for tolerating everyday friction drops dramatically. Things that would normally wash over you start landing like provocations. Your brain is not being dramatic - it is genuinely depleted, and it has stopped being able to buffer the small stuff.

The irritability is data. It is your body telling you the tank is nearly empty before you consciously register it yourself.

One thing that helps - and I mean actually helps, not performs wellness - is giving your nervous system a genuine off switch at least once during the day. Not a scroll break. Not a coffee. Something that physiologically signals safety to your brain.

For me that is ten minutes of meditation before the day starts. No phone, no noise, just enough quiet for my nervous system to remember it is not under threat.

It doesn't fix everything. But it changes the baseline enough that the small stuff stops feeling like an emergency.

If you want more tools like this, you should be following me on Instagram. My page is built for women who are already doing a lot and need support that respects that.

Pssssst:

I made a free quiz exactly for this nervous system stuff. It takes less than 3 minutes and it will tell you whether what's going on and what to do next.

Link is below. Take it honestly.
