The small lies that cost you the most

This week's hot topic πŸ”₯

This week we're talking about why we lie to ourselves.

Hey Reader

I have been thinking about the tiny edits we make to ourselves all day long.

The "I'm fine" when we are not. The "totally manageable" when the list is already overflowing. The smile in the meeting that says everything is fine when everyone in the room knows you have not taken a day off in months.

None of it feels like lying. It feels like coping. Like keeping things smooth.

But here is what I know from the psychology: every small distance between what you say and what you actually feel leaves a residue. It is quiet, but it builds. And over time it shows up as that vague, hard-to-name sense of being out of sync with yourself.

We do not lie because we are dishonest. We lie because somewhere along the way we learned that truth was a social risk. That being too real might cost us connection, approval, or our reputation for having it together.

The work is not radical transparency. Nobody needs you to announce every feeling in every meeting.

It is just this: noticing which small untruths are costing you peace. And practising one gentle, quiet truth in their place.

That is where the energy comes back from.

I have been asking the women on my waitlist what actually brought them to the door.

63% said they had hit a wall and were trying to figure out who they are outside of their job and their family. 38% said they knew something needed to change but could not put their finger on what. And some of the words that came back stopped me in my tracks.

I have been performing fine for so long I have forgotten what actually fine feels like.

I am doing well on paper but I feel empty underneath it.

Finding me again.

If any of that landed, this is for you.

I am opening the Glow Zone. A free community for capable women who are carrying more than they are letting on. Real tools, honest conversations, and women who get it because they are living it too. No motivational quotes. No people selling things. Just a space that is genuinely yours.
